GameStop Has Sold 600,000 Call of Duty Elite Subscriptions

Although it's experienced a rather bumpy launch, Call of Duty Elite seems to be a massive success for both Activision and retailers.

GameStop president Tony Bartel said today during an earnings call that the company had sold "nearly 600,000 instances of the Modern Warfare Elite DLC to date."

MW3 sold 6.5 million copies on day one across all retailers -- so 600k may be a lot, but it's not 6.5 million, right? Thing is, this was GameStop alone. Elite sales numbers from all retailers combined surely will be much higher.

CoD Elite was so big for Gamestop that Bartel says "This places the launch of Elite as one of our top 10 launches of the year so far."
Season pass style DLC purchases seem to be catching on in the game industry, with games like Gears of War and Call of Duty leading the way. What do you think of Call of Duty Elite? Let us know in the comments.
